Dragon Power Workshop 2009
The time finally came to get Dragon Power in the workshop, even though there was not much to do, there wasnt much time to do it either.
The first job was to split the tractor for its annual clutch inspection, after the amount of times it has been done before, it has now become a 20 minute job. The tin work is removed, chassis is dropped off the bottom, electrics removed complete, fuel pipes and kill cable removed, steering arm removed and then the bell housing bolts.
On inspection we found that the clutch was in much worse condition than orginally believed. The pressure plate had 3 broken retaining springs, the drive plates had warped, and 2 flywheel bolts had snapped.
While the new parts for the clutch were on order, some of the smaller jobs could be completed. A new throttle system was made, hopefully to increase revs, and the water injection was altered, to allow water to start at a lower boost pressure.
A new front section and hitch were made, due to the incident with the county at Croeslan, and the intercooler tank repaired. Hopefully this section will be stronger.
The flywheel was skimmed, 2 new drive plates, a new floater plate and the repaired pressure plate arrived, ready to be refitted
Extra cross bolts were added to the exhaust pipe, the intercooler tank was refitted and primed, a new ignition switch was fitted aswell as a oil change.
The kill was altered to make operation easier.
A bar was added to the rear of the roll bar, to suit new SWTPA ruling.
With the paint touched up and polished, and new sponsorship stickers added, all that was left was to load ready for Bristol.
